Theatre Northeast at 星空传媒 will hold auditions for its spring production, Twelfth Night or What You Will by William Shakespeare, on Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.
The production features a large cast, and auditions are open to community members, NTCC students and NTCC employees. Those auditioning should prepare one memorized Shakespearean sonnet. Following the sonnet, participants will be asked to read a short scene from Twelfth Night with another actor.
Performers are encouraged to focus on clarity, character choices and understanding the text. British accents are not required.
鈥淭his is a safe, welcoming space to explore Shakespeare and take creative risks,鈥 said Dr. Page Petrucka, Theatre Northeast director. 鈥淢ost of all, we want people to have fun with the language and enjoy the process.鈥
Performance dates are April 16鈥18 and April 20. Those cast should expect to rehearse at least three days per week and attend all performances. A detailed character list will be shared next week.

鈥淭his is a joyful, fast-paced show, and there truly is a place for everyone,鈥 Petrucka said.
