Farmers, gardeners, and homesteading enthusiasts will gather at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ (NTCC) on Saturday, March 29, 2025, for the 2nd Annual Homestead Fair. The event, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the NTCC Ag Complex, aims to connect local producers and individuals interested in sustainable agriculture and self-sufficiency. .

The ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Faculty Senate is currently accepting scholarship applications for the 2025-2026 academic year. Qualified applicants will have at least 15 semester hours of college credit, reside in Texas, and not currently receive more than $500 in scholarship aid.
ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ will be closed March 17-21 for spring break.
As we celebrate Mardi Gras, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s (NTCC) Office of Student Development is embracing the spirit of giving with a Mardi Gras Sock Drive, running March 1-31.
Socks are among the most needed but least donated items in shelters and nursing homes. To help, NTCC aims to collect new, packaged socks for those in need across East Texas. Donations can be dropped off at SUB 101 throughout March.
The Active Minds chapter at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ (NTCC) is hosting a Fundraiser Night on March 10 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at Herschel’s Restaurant in Mount Pleasant. This event aims to raise awareness and support for mental health initiatives within the community.
Vanessajane Bayna, a Presidential Honors Scholar at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ has been named a 2025 Coca-Cola Academic Team Bronze Scholar and will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation sponsors the Coca-Cola Academic Team program by recognizing 50 Gold, 50 Silver, and 50 Bronze Scholars with nearly $200,000 in scholarships annually. Each scholar also receives a commemorative medallion.
Local author and craftsman M. J. Hayes has received the Phi Theta Kappa Friend of Texas Award. Each year, the Texas Region of Phi Theta Kappa recognizes individuals who are not members or advisors, but go above and beyond—demonstrating exemplary support for a Phi Theta Kappa chapter. ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s chapter, Alpha Mu Chi, nominated Hayes for his assistance with the chapter’s 2023 and 2024 Honors in Action projects.
The ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Art Department will host the Mount Pleasant Art Society Annual Membership Show March 8th-28th in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The competitive show features artwork from a variety of local artists. A reception will be held Saturday, March 8th from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the Whatley Center Foyer. The gallery is open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. However, it will be closed March 17th-21st for spring break.
Representatives from ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ traveled to UT Tyler on Monday, March 3rd to attend a special Transfer Summit. NTCC is collaborating with UT Tyler to establish co-enrollment pathways that would allow students to take classes at both institutions simultaneously to work toward their educational goals.
