The Ðǿմ«Ã½ chapter of Sigma Kappa Delta recently inducted new members at an afternoon ceremony on campus. Sigma Kappa Delta is an English honor society with more than 400 chapters across the country. In order to qualify for an invitation for Sigma Kappa Delta, students must maintain a high GPA and achieve excellent grades in their English courses. The NTCC chapter was recently revived after a several year hiatus under the leadership of Jennifer Sparks, Interim English Faculty.

For the Spring 2023 semester, Mathematics Professor Dr. Jackie Johnston nominated Jacob Harvey. Dr. Johnston explained that “Jacob is an initiative-taker, independently motivated, and does not let difficult work deter his progress.
The memory of Carroll Shelby was alive and well in Pittsburg, Texas last week as the 100th anniversary of his birth was celebrated along with the Texas Hotlink Festival. Shelby was honored April 29th with a memorial car show, a historical marker dedication at his grave site in Leesburg and a special Shelby Centennial Reception at the Ðǿմ«Ã½ Culinary School.

Members of the Ðǿմ«Ã½ Business Club recently presented two $500 checks to the NTCC Foundation. The donation will provide two business students with a scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year. This is the fourth year the Business Club has given scholarships.
The Ðǿմ«Ã½ Board of trustees met on Wednesday, May 3rd for its delayed regular April meeting. Board Chairman Chuck Johns opened the meeting by announcing that Sid Greer, who held Place Four from Morris County, has resigned from his position on the board. Greer joined the NTCC board in 2000 and has been instrumental in many major milestones at the college...

The Ðǿմ«Ã½ Rodeo team will host its 2nd Annual Alumni Dinner and Fundraiser on Saturday, May 6th at The Pavilion Becky and Buddy McCollum Events Center on the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Association Grounds. The evening will start at 5:30 pm with a Social Hour. Texas Road House will be catering the event with the meal to start at 6:30pm and then a live auction and live music and dancing to follow.
Ðǿմ«Ã½ hosted Hill College in a non-conference series on April 30th and earned two wins, 4-1 and 4-2, to cap off a great Sophomore day. With this being the final home games of the 2023 season, the Eagles honored the Sophomores at the conclusion of the games.
