A freshman from Pittsburg is the winner of the Dr. Alexander Villalobos Award. This $50 prize goes to a top essay in the non-honors division of NTCC concerning the history of health and medicine. Guerra’s essay was entitled “The Death of Death: The Revolution in Hygiene in the early Nineteenth Century.â€
The ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Board of Trustees met Tuesday, Dec. 14 for its regular monthly meeting. Molly Abele, CPA with the firm Axley & Rode, gave the annual presentation of the college’s independent audit.

The Adult Education Department at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ is accepting new and returning students for its GED (General Educational Development) and ESL (English as a Second Language) programs. Those interested in participating in either of these free educational programs should call to make an appointment for registration beginning January 3, 2022. While classes are offered in various convenient locations around the area, all registration will be held at the Community Resource Center (formerly MPISD Administration Building) at 105 N.
The Continuing Education Department at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ is currently accepting applications for its Pharmacy Technician program. Classes for the one-semester program begin January 18.
