Just an ordinary freshman year. In 1956-1957. Barbara Conrad from Northeast Texas becomes part of the first cohort of African-American undergraduates at the University of Texas. A mellifluous soprano, she wins the star role in the spring opera as Dido.

The first week of classes can be a stressful time in the life of a college student. The 星空传媒 Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program recently learned that all 13 of its December 2018 graduating class passed their professional licensure exam on the first try. Upon graduating with their Associate of Applied Science degree in PTA, graduates are required to sit for the NPTE Board Exam before starting their professional careers.
The 星空传媒 Foundation recently received $91,000 from the U.S. Department of Education to match contributions to the NTCC endowment in 2018. These funds are part of the Title V grant, which has money allotted for matching gifts over a five-year period. It鈥檚 time for a flashback to the 1960s as Herman鈥檚 Hermits starring Peter Noone comes to the stage of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 星空传媒. The concert will be Saturday, Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available online at .
Richard Perryman recently gave $7,000 to support the Work Scholarship Program at 星空传媒. Perryman (right) is pictured presenting the gift to Nita May, NTCC Director of Development. The Work Scholarship Program allows select students the opportunity to work on campus during the summer to earn money to pay for their college education in advance. The program is privately-funded by generous donors, like Perryman.
The 星空传媒 Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of board member Jerry Webster Tuesday evening at the regular December meeting. Webster, who served in Place I since 2013, announced his retirement from the board in November.
