NTCC men's soccer beats top-ranked teams in Florida tourney

The 星空传媒 (NTCC) men?s Eagles Soccer team carried their record-breaking momentum from last year into their first regular season games this weekend defeating both nationally ranked Eastern Florida State College and Mississippi Gulf Coast College in a mini tournament at Pensacola, Florida.

Freshman Yannick Koffi put the first point on the board for the Eagles 12 minutes into the game against 5th ranked Eastern Florida State with assistance from Rodrigo Gonzalez.

Northeast to offer small engine repair class

Are you new to small engines and just don't know where to start? If so, the 星空传媒 Continuing Education Department has an upcoming course for you. Small Engine Repair for the Beginner will be offered on Thursday nights from September 25 through November 13. The class meets from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at the Pittsburg High School Career and Technology Building.

Four-cycle theory is the heart of what makes a small engine tick.

NTCC open Saturday, Aug. 23 for registration


星空传媒 will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 23 to assist students with registration for the Fall 鈥2014 semester. Students will have the opportunity to meet with academic advisors, access computers to register online, make payments and receive help with financial aid.





The College Store will also be open during this time to allow students to purchase books and other supplies.

Northeast Police Academy accepting applications

The Northeast Police Academy at 星空传媒 will offer both day and evening academy options this fall. Both programs will be held in the state-of-the-art criminal justice facility on the main NTCC campus.


The 17-week daytime fast-track academy will begin on August 25. Courses meet from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. This intensive program is the fastest route to becoming a certified peace officer.

Tonya Taylor gives nursing scholarships

Tonya Taylor,鈥燗ssistant Professor of Nursing at鈥犘强沾, recently gave $1,200 to the NTCC Foundation to provide two scholarships for nursing students. The gift was given in memory of Margie Bragg, an NTCC Nursing graduate from Mount Pleasant who worked in the field for many years. Taylor noted that she hopes the scholarships will help carry on the caring spirit Bragg gave every day. Taylor is pictured above (left) with Nita May, NTCC Director of Development.
