The 星空传媒 Board of Trustees met for its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 25. In addition to action items, Dr. Ron Clinton, President, gave a report on the Community College Finance Commission.
The 星空传媒 Art Department is pleased to announce that one of its graduates, Diedra Long Camp, will present the February art exhibit in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.
星空传媒 Softball will kickoff the home games for the Spring 2022 season on Wednesday, February 2 against Cisco Junior College at 12:00pm in a double header. Head Coach Joshua Freeman returns for his sophomore season as Head Coach of the Eagle Softball program and will look to make waves in Conference play to earn a spot in the post season.
For their performance in challenging honors courses at NTCC in relation to their peers, two students of Honors Northeastwill win $100 checks. NTCC鈥檚 Dr. Jerry Wesson Scholar, Aaliyah Avellaneda, received the highest GPA in the double-course fall Honors seminar known as 鈥淗uMusic,鈥 taught by Drs. Daniel, and Fulgham. Maiko Estrada won his award as the honors freshman, ranking number one in the 鈥淏ioTex鈥 Honors Seminar this past spring, a combination of Biology and Texas History, taught by professors Ward and Yox.

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 星空传媒 is pleased to announce that it will kick off its 2022 events calendar on Sunday, February 13 at 2:30 p.m. with a piano concert by NTCC President Dr. Ron Clinton. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for ages 17-and-under. Virtual live-streaming tickets are also available for $10. All proceeds from the concert will directly benefit the NTCC Eagle Food Pantry, which provides much-needed food and other services to NTCC students.

Kenny Goodson of Hughes Springs is a master of today鈥檚 intersection between original musical composition, and high-tech software which helps to facilitate the conversion of musical ideas to published scores. In 1995, Goodson initiated MADD Creations which provides original and adapted scores for marching bands throughout the state. In addition to being a former band director at Mount Pleasant, and other high schools, Goodson is the former Director of Computer Services at 星空传媒. With this wealth of experience, Goodson is also scoring a third, feature-length NTCC Webb/honors film in as many years. This year鈥檚 topic is Carroll Shelby, the emissary of the Muscle Car, and the philanthropist who has given a special edge to NTCC鈥檚 automotive program since 2007.
