CNFR standings update
Representatives from the NTCC Rodeo Team are hard at work in Casper, Wyoming this week at the College National Finals Rodeo. Below is an update on their progress as of Tuesday, June 11 (according to CNFR website standings):
? Sadie Johnson is in sixth place overall in goat tying after three runs. Her times were 7.7, 7.2, and 6.5 seconds respectively.
? Zack Bocco is in 36th place in Steer Wrestling after two go-rounds.
NTCC athletes compete at CNFR this week
ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ is being represented at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) June 9-15 in Casper, Wyoming. NTCC sent four athletes to compete in the culmination of the college rodeo year.â€
Kyler Bramhall (header) and Zack Bocco (heeler) finished the season as Southern Region reserve champion team ropers and will represent NTCC in that event.
35 students complete RN program
The Nursing Program at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ recently awarded 35 students with an Associate's Degree in Nursing. These students are now eligible to test to become Registered Nurses. The May 2013 graduating class is pictured above:

I think as a native Texan I have been privy to (and guilty of using) my fair share of ?old-timey sayings." In fact, my agriculture students at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ just love to ask for clarification of ones like ?86th†the noise? or†?gobbldygook? or ?hottsy tottsy?or ?flapping your gums?.
One such colloquialism that I heard quite a bit growing up was ?You just can?t get blood from a turnip!?

NTCC closed for Memorial Day
ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ will be closed on Monday, May 27 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Offices will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, May 28. In case of an emergency on campus during the closure, contact security at 903-563-1417.
Fine Arts Club of Mount Pleasant gives scholarship
The ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Foundation recently received a $500 gift to benefit a student majoring in fine arts. This scholarship, contributed by the Fine Arts Club of Mount Pleasant, is one of the longest running scholarships at NTCC (established 1985). Police Academy cadets receive 100% passing scores on TCLEOSE exam
The ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Police Academy recently announced that 100% of graduating cadets successfully passed the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) exam, which qualifies them to work as peace officers in the state of Texas.
CIS engages Chapel Hill Juniors, Seniors during STARR testing
Recent STARR testing for Freshmen and Sophomores caused Junior and Seniors at Chapel Hill to be displaced.††Kristin French, Comunities in Schools coordinator at Chapel Hill Junior High and High School planned three days of activities for Juniors and Seniors.
The theme of the activities for juniors was getting ready for senior year. Mrs. Cristy Nolen, Family and Consumer Science teacher said, "Senior Camp" and that name stuck!††We wanted to get LOTS of work done, but have fun at the same time.
